About My Boots.....
Boot Style...  Boots can be virtually any style: the classic four piece cowboy, one piece tops, triplex style or even lace-ups and packers.
.
Preferences...  The preferences of you, the customer, are as important as the skill of the bootmaker.  From "peewees" to high stovepipe tops, from multiple rows of bright stitching to fancy inlays, antelope to alligator...  only your imagination will limit you.  If you can describe it - explain it - or show me a picture - I can put it on a boot!

Quality  a good custom made boot will have some or all of the following:

Stacked Leather Heels. Soling leather is stacked one layer at a time, shaped and pegged - not nailed. Even top name factory boots are using compressed paper or plastic for heels in order to cut costs.

A Hard Leather or Quality Silastic Toe Box.  Almost all factory boots use plastic or treated paper. These will seldom hold their shape. The leather or silastic toe box, if crushed, can usually be restored to its original shape.

Pegged Instep.  Pegs are used rather than nails because they do not rust. Each peg must be driven by hand, one at a time, across from it's "mate" on the opposite side of the instep.

Three-quarter Welt and Sewn Arch.  NO NAILS will ever be used on a really good boot - except during construction - but those used will pulled before the boots are finished. Even though the welt ends just behind the ball of the foot, the inseaming continues down the instep and often around the heel. All factory boots tack this area with nails that rust and cause the boot to rot.

A Hard Leather Counter Behind the Heel. This will be sewn directly into the leg of the boot, never sandwiched between the lining and outer layers. Factories often use hardened paper here, but this piece should be of the highest quality since it is the counter that prevents the boot from running over.

Keep in mind -- Your Custom Boots can be ANY way you want them -- not just color - but the shape of the toe to the shape and height of the heel to the height of the tops.  Custom is what it's all about here.  You decide what you want and together we will build a pair of boots that are uniquely you!
